Patio Hot tub for commercial use

patio hot tub

Hot tubs are a great luxury selling point for many businesses such as gyms, hotels, and holiday rentals. If you want to improve your customer experience, adding a hot tub to your commercial space can also be a cost-effective method to do. Especially if you choose a patio hot tub, as it does not take up any indoor space and is easier, quicker, and cheaper to install.

So, what makes a patio hot tub a great investment for commercial use?

Added luxury

Hot tubs are rightly considered an item of luxury and despite their growing popularity in households across the UK, they are still a great selling point in the hospitality and leisure industry.

If you want to add a hot tub to your holiday home, or add several to your hotel or gym, then it can make the difference to whether a customer chooses you over your competitor. Everyone wants to feel relaxed and spoiled on a break away from ordinary life, or enjoy a spa session after the gym, therefore adding the luxury a hot tub can offer is a great way to increase your customer base.

Long-term investment

Everyone wants to get the maximum amount of functionality and features from their outdoor hot tub while getting the best value, which is why despite their size and weight, patio hot tubs are a cost-effective solution.

Cheaper than their fixed alternatives and not only is the initial investment lower but patio hot tubs are also extremely economical to run, making them more cost-effective than a full hot tub. These lower running costs can be easily offset by the extra business a hot tub can offer you.

As they are available in a 4-person hot tub and 6-person hot tub, with features such as adjustable heating, WiFi control, underwater LED lighting and a range of massage jets, patio hot tubs provide great value for money, so you don’t have to compromise on luxury over price.

Hot tubs really can give your business an added extra when marketing your holiday let, cabin or lodge as they have a wide appeal to many, if you invest in a covering, and a hot tub gazebo then their all-year-round use is an even better selling point, making patio hot tubs a quality long-term investment.

Space-saving

If you are a business that wants to invest in a hot tub, but your indoor space is at a premium already, then a patio hot tub is the ideal solution. Smaller and more portable than the traditional fixed hot tubs, you get all the benefits while maximising the space you have.

This is particularly important for holiday lets or rentals when you want to create selling points without losing the number of guests you can have staying in a property.

By choosing a patio hot tub, you are ensuring you purchase a hot tub with huge flexibility, they can fit almost anywhere with a stable surface, so you can add a patio hot tub within your outdoor parameters, and it can be easily installed with the minimum of disruption to your business.

So, you may want the space-saving hot tub, but you may have concerns over the actual size and whether it can be suitable to accommodate guests. Most patio or garden hot tubs range from seating two to six people, which is ideal for holiday accommodation or smaller hotels. They can do this by not having fixed seats, giving room for your bathers to move around and sit comfortably.

What do you need to know about hot tubs for commercial use?

Hot tubs for commercial use have specific legislation that businesses must follow to ensure that any hot tub used in a commercial environment such as holiday lets meets the standards required to ensure a safe experience for the user. These are the HSG282* regulations and they were introduced by the Health and Safety Executive.

If you are planning to install a hot tub for commercial use, then it is important you comply with these regulations to avoid financial and reputational damage to your business. In summary, you must:

  • Ensure the water in spa pools should be free from irritant substances, chemicals and infectious microbiological agents at levels which may be harmful to health.
  • Ensure your hot tub has a built-in sanitisation system.
  • Your hot tub(s) must have a high-flow filtration system that can filter the total water capacity in 15 minutes.
  • The water capacity of the hot tub must be equal to or exceed 250 litres, per bather seat, or with patio hot tubs (which often don’t have specific seats) the manufacturer recommended a number of persons.
  • Monthly testing for microbiological agents.
  • Quarterly Legionella tests.
  • Water replacement and filter cleaning between each new set of guests.
  • Regular flushing of pipework.
  • The water should be tested every day for pH and chemical levels and adjusted where necessary. These records must be kept for 5 years.

As well as adhering to the regulations regarding a spa or hot tub, you should also consider the safety of your guests getting in and out of the hot tub and we would recommend non-slip mats to help prevent any accidents.
