Hot tub trends for 2022

In the last few years, there’s been a noticeable shift towards a work-life balance in favour of spending more time at home, so it’s no surprise that garden hot tubs have surged in popularity. Hot tubs offer a sanctuary – a place to unwind, whether you’re alone or you’re entertaining friends and family. In this blog, we look at 2022’s trending hot tubs and accessories, and take a look at where to find the best hot tub deals.

Trending hot tubs – updated for 2022

This year expect to see more cohesive living spaces as homeowners attempt to blur the lines between inside and out. Here we count down the top three design trends.

  1. Natural materials

Wood, brick, stone, and other natural materials are all set to be big in garden renovation, this year. Hot tubs are expected to follow this design trend, and we predict that wooden cabinets and soft surrounds in neutral colours will be popular in 2022.

If you’re looking for something that blends seamlessly with its environment, then stick to colours like tan, beige, brown, taupe, cream, and grey.

At Hot Tubs & Living, we stock a range of innovative portable hot tubs, known as ‘Softubs’, that come with a choice of Leathertex (or Syntex) surrounds. From almond to Caribbean green and metallic blue, there is a colour to suit every garden.

  1. Garden ‘zoning’

You’re probably used to creating zones in open-plan spaces indoors, and this trend is increasingly becoming a part of designing outdoor living areas too. It’s popular now to have garden zones dedicated to eating, entertaining, and play equipment for the kids.

Installing a hot tub canopy is a great way of sectioning off an area of the garden dedicated to relaxation – away from the waft of the BBQ and the kids’ trampoline!

Hot tub gazebos are a practical way of keeping you dry when it’s raining and protecting you from the sun’s rays at the height of summer. With the right design you can create your own private sanctuary complete with lights, heaters, and even your own bar.

The Stillington is our top-selling gazebo, popular for its versatility. Made from western red cedar, this hexagonal gazebo comes with a raft of optional extras, including:

  • solid wall in-fills or screens for privacy
  • heating
  • LED lights
  • weather-proof fabric window blinds
  • side bar with stools
  • skylight

All our hot tub gazebos are made-to-order to suit your exact requirements.

  1. Bringing the inside out

Making your outdoor space feel like an extension of your indoor living area is key to nailing this year’s garden trends. When it comes to your hot tub, it’s all about having the right accessories that make your outdoor space a regularly used part of the house.

Just some of the hot tub accessories popular with our customers, include:

  • drinks trays
  • floating games board
  • aromatherapy elixirs and crystals
  • LED lights
  • inflatable spa bar

These hot tub accessories are designed to make using your spa fun, but others have a more practical side to them – a lid stand, a cover lift, steps and a handrail, for example.

Where to get this year’s trending hot tubs

When it comes to buying a hot tub, investing in a quality product really does payoff, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bag yourself a bargain. If you’re looking for a quality hot tub that won’t break the bank, then we recommend ‘The Ripon bundle deal‘.

At £5,980 this four-seater comes with rattan surround steppers, and a cover lifter – and it’s available for immediate delivery (correct at time of publication March 2022). This small but mighty hot tub is economical to run and packed with features, including colour-changing LED lights, WiFi control and 12 powerful hydrotherapy massage jets.

This hot tub ticks all the boxes for fitting in with its surroundings. Its natural-looking cabinet and rattan surround with steps are both finished in neutral colours.

For something a bit bigger, we also have an offer on The York – a six-seater hot tub with an insulated, all-weather composite wood cabinet. One of our newest hot tubs, it has a lounger, adjustable heat settings, and 28 steel jets for the ultimate in relaxation.

Whether this is the first hot tub you’ve ever bought or you’re looking to upgrade your current spa, we can help. Visit our York showroom to see what’s on offer first-hand, or contact our friendly team by phone or email. We have years of experience helping customers to find a hot tub that suits their lifestyle and their budget.

Hot tub trends – the key takeaway

More people than ever are choosing to spend time outdoors by extending their living space outside and creating an inside-out feel that matches their interior design. Natural materials, neutral colours, and outdoor accessories are set to be big this year, and when it comes to hot tubs that means making sure it blends seamlessly with its environment.

The key takeaway in garden design for 2022 is ‘zoning’, and we expect hot tub gazebos to rocket in popularity this year as more people look to create their own private sanctuary – a great place to relax and unwind after a hard day’s work.
